A Different Time

What were you doing when you were three?

"Oh Mom, yes I'm three, three and a half, and I know how to use a computer.  I'm not showing off this is just the way it is.  You are old.  Computers weren't invented when you were my age." - Joey

72 Days Left...

I am now in my third trimester of pregnancy with Addison.  This is my favorite time of pregnancy... Addison is big enough yet still small enough that I can feel all of her movements, morning, noon, and night.  I am craving fresh fruit, milk, root beer, ice cold water (with ice), iced chi lattes from Starbucks, and ice cream (Ben and Jerry's of course).  My mind races about meeting our precious little girl, wondering if she will look like Joey when she's born, hoping that Joey and Addison will be the best of friends for all time.

Ryan, Joey, and I have watched my stomach grow as the days have gone by.  We spend many evenings together feeling Addison roll around in my stomach, playing music for her, and talking about what we will do when she finally arrives.  Joey is already the most amazing big brother.  Always very concerned about her well-being and proud that he will soon have his little sister on her way.  My stomach gets much love these days from Joey... Random kisses, hugs, bumps, high fives, and lots of talking to!

Being a mother is the very best gift that I could have been given.  It is an amazing time in my life and knowing that I will move on from this stage and enjoy many many years to come with my wonderful children, I wanted to be sure to capture the look of pregnancy.

Our dear friend and photographer, Kathy Disney spent some time with us and was able to capture the beauty that I was so unaware of in my pregnancy.  I can't thank her enough for all that she has done through out the years in capturing the images of our family and now capturing the simplicity and elegance of motherhood.  http://web.mac.com/kathydisney

Funny Things Joey Says...

  • "Mommy, I'm pretty Old"
  • "Pop-Pop, when your done at our house in the yard, will you work on Nathan's?  Did you see it?  It looks weird!" (Lawn Snob)
  • "I'm never going to stop growing Mommy"
  • "Mommy, your tummy is getting so big!  Don't you see it?" (Thanks Joey!)
  • "Mommy, I want to marry you."  I replied, "You can't marry me Joey, I'm your mommy.  However, one day you'll meet a girl you love and you'll marry her."  "But mommy, you are a girl and I love you!"  Sweet Joey.

Not Your Average Easter

Skip the Easter Egg Hunt, we went right for the big stuff from the Easter Bunny this year!  A New Red Shiny Bike for Joey!  He's got skills too!  Joey jumped right on and after a little help from Dad, he was off and has been off ever sense.  I couldn't be more proud of our growing boy.  Brave.  Fearless.  A Trickster.  Strong.  Willing.  Speedy.

It was the most relaxing Easter we've had in quite sometime... The most beautiful weather, outside all day watching our big boy grow before our eyes!

Times Are Changing

Joey's big boy bed arrived today.  Where did the time go?  It felt like yesterday we were bringing Joey home from the hospital, now he is moving to a twin bed... He promised me that we will always be buddies and he will always love his 'Mommy'.

Joey's First School Project

Ready to be a big brother in June, our 'Mr. Magoo', 'Bubba', 'Moose', Joey, is growing up before our eyes.  He is enjoying Mrs. Donna and Mrs. Cheryl's class at St. Michael's Preschool... His first school project, to make a sock puppet.  After much debating and careful thinking, (about two seconds of deliberation), Joey knew he wanted to make a pirate sock puppet!  (Go figure!)  We all hunkered down in the kitchen after a shopping spree for supplies at Michael's, and created "Captain Hook'.

My First Blog

I have finally joined the ranks in blogging!  You wouldn't have thought it would have taken so long.  Encouraged by friends and family, motivated by the desire to capture our families memories.  Hope you (that is whoever may follow this blog) enjoys the stories of our family as much as we enjoy living them!
